Okay, okay, okay- the picture helps. When Tom Ford tapped Juan Betancourt to be the face of his new Men’s Grooming Line it changed the way men looked at moisturizing. The image of Faye Dunaway in Mommy Dearest obsessively moisturizing was replaced with sexy male models, and star athletes. Over the past five years, the men's skin care industry has boomed. From high end lines like Tom Ford who offers nine different skin care/ grooming products, to Dove for men, the beauty world is telling men to moisturize. And well, men are listening and consuming creating markets for brands like Every Man Jack and Menscience and expanding lines at Clinique, Ole Henriksen, and Shiseido.

Why moisturize? Fact: Skin is your body's largest organ, so you probably should take care of it. To do that, moisturize. No really, moisturize. Aging for men can be scary, and in fact, the reason why we have "mid-life crisis" situations. Getting old is not fun, but to prevent early wrinkles, dry skin or crack, you should be moisturizing daily. Moisturizing helps keep pores healthy, and healthy pores lead to a tighter firmer skin, with less blemishes. If your skin is oily, you can find oil free, or moisturizers for oily skin now.

If you already moisturize, and you want your skin to look healthier, ask yourself, "How often do I exfoliate?" Exfoliating your skin every day for men is quite important, especially if you work outdoors. Exfoliating removes dead skin, and can help get rid of blemishes and light scars. Still want to kick your skin regiment up a notch? Try using a mask once a week to help keep your pores tight.

Now, if you are okay with using super market products than great. For those of you who want to spend the money on designer labels, go for it. If you just want to experiment around with what is out there, DO IT and let us know how it is working for you. If you are looking for product reviews, just google, every review varies because of endorsements, sponsorships, and the skin of whoever is reviewing the product.

Recently, we came across the men's Ole Henriksen products, developed by a Danish cosmetician. We already loved his youth syrum, but hello his men's moisturizer! (it is $45 and totally worth it, click the image to go buy it.)
